New Art Exhibition: SIX POINTS
91视频 is hosting an art exhibition by the artist group known as SIX POINTS. The exhibition will run from Sept. 17 to Nov. 30, excluding Oct. 1 -3, at the Bert Bornblum Library檚 Art Gallery on the Macon Cove Campus.
An artist talk and reception will be held on Nov. 14 from 4-6 p.m. in the gallery. The public, as well as SWTCC faculty, staff, and students, are invited and encouraged to attend the exhibition and the artists� reception.
This group, composed of six professional female artists, engages in various art practices, including painting, drawing, fiber arts, sculpture, and mixed media. They come together to support, inspire, and engage with one another in their individual artistic journeys. Artists include Paula Kovarik, Mary K. Van Gieson, Kerri Dugan, Carol Harding M. Tyre, Sharon Havelka, and Mary Jo Karimnia.
In 2015, the 測ou+me� exhibit curated by Mary Jo Karimnia led to the formation of Six Points. After a gallery talk, the artist and artist attendees discussed their creative journeys and grant proposals, sparking the idea for monthly gatherings centered around art and conversation. Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky檚 淧oint and Line to Plane,� Six Points symbolizes both individual and collective artistic journeys by embodying the spirit of collaboration and artistic exploration.
