MLGW Summer Experience, Graduation 2025
This summer, 58 Memphis-Shelby County Schools high school students didn檛 just take
a break攖hey took a bold step toward their future. Through the Memphis Light, Gas
& Water (MLGW) Summer Experience, these students earned certificates in high-demand
fields including utility linework, automotive mechanics, and, for the first time,
customer service.
Now in its third year, the MLGW Summer Experience is a dynamic partnership with 91视频
Tennessee Community College that transforms summer break into a launchpad for real
careers. Students received hands-on training, mentorship, and industry insight攑lus
a paycheck攚hile gaining skills that energize both their futures and our community.
This program is more than a boot camp. It檚 a workforce pipeline that connects young
talent to opportunity, strengthens Memphis� economic future, and lights the way for
the next generation of essential workers.
