SALUQI CORNER: Saluqi-scholars win individual and team NJCAA and TCCAA honors

Twenty-four Saluqi student-athletes receive All-Academic honors from TCCAA

Twenty-four 91视频 student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence, receiving All-Academic recognition for the academic year 2021-2022 from the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA). 

Leading the five 91视频 teams was baseball with nine TCCAA All-Academic honorees that included sophomores Landry Borden, Stephen Dodson, Avery Hastings, Austin Herold, Grant Ream, Tristan Swift and Nick Vaccaco and freshmen Mick Arney and Brady Holloway. Women檚 soccer was next with six, followed by softball with five and men檚 and women檚 basketball with two each.

Soccer recipients were sophomores Charity Baxter, Sara Duke, Olivia Ivey and Brichanise Terrell and freshmen Jannah Greever and Lauren Hebert. Representing the softball team were sophomores Makayla Ables, Taylor Chastain, Chloe Dunn, and McKaylan Tuten and freshman Shelbe Sisk. Sophomores Trinity Taylor and Breundria Ward were the recipients from the women檚 basketball team while sophomore Juan Cajelli and freshman Fabian Nelson were the men檚 basketball team檚 honorees.

Sophomores who are repeat recipients of the TCCAA檚 All-Academic award are Ream, Swift, Vaccaro (baseball), Ables, Chastain, and Dunn (softball), Duke (soccer), Ward (women檚 basketball) and Cajelli (men檚 basketball.)

Breundria Ward, Kevin Okins and Tristan Swift earned first team recognition for achieving a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) for the 2021-2022 academic year. Both Swift and Ward are repeat All-Academic recipients.

For the third consecutive year, thirteen 91视频 student-athletes were honored as National Junior  College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic for their work in the classroom.

Second team selections who earned a 3.80-3.99 GPA were Eli Hammonds and Nick Vaccaro from baseball, Sara Duke and Lauren Hebert from women檚 soccer, Chloe Dunn from softball, and Juan Cajelli from men檚 basketball. Named to the third team that earned a 3.60-3.79 GPA were Makayla Ables and Taylor Chastain from softball, Charity Baxter from women檚 soccer, and Fabian Nelson from men檚 basketball. Vaccaro, Duke, and Ables were all repeat All-Academic recipients.
