Associate Dean Matthew Lexow tapped for Tennessee SCORE檚 leadership institute

Matthew LexowAssociate Dean for the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Matthew Lexow, will join 25 leaders from higher education, K-12, business, and nonprofit sectors for the 2023 State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute (CTLI). 

The one-year leadership program allows CTLI members to take a deep dive into the current data behind student success and develop best practices to drive post-secondary student success in their communities. 

淚 am honored and excited to be part of the 2023-2024 Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute,� Lexow said. 淚 am continually impressed by Tennessee檚 commitment to improving access and success for today檚 students. Working alongside a diverse group of leaders from across the state will help me identify strategies we can implement at 91视频 to serve current and future students better. I can檛 wait to get started!�

Key factors covered in the program include post-secondary completion and attainment, equity and access to higher education, and supporting post-secondary student success. The overarching goal of CTLI is to ensure more students are earning degrees and credentials that prepare them for careers.

In addition to studying local and statewide data, participants will also draw upon a broader, national perspective of what constitutes student success in collaboration with the Hunt Institute. The Institute is a national nonprofit that equips educators and policymakers with the tools, research and resources they need to become visionary change-makers and champions for education.

Joining Lexow as a representative of the West Tennessee Region are the following education leaders:

� Dr. Constance Certion, Manager of High School Counseling Services, Memphis-Shelby County Schools
� Dr. LaToshia S. Chism, Professor of Education, Lane College
� Leigh Mansberg, President, Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South
� Jamie Mantooth, Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Student Engagement, University of Tennessee at Martin
� Heath McMillian, President, Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Jackson
� Cortney Richardson, Chief Executive Officer, Peer Power Foundation
� Dr. Carol A. Rothstein, President, Jackson State Community College
