Sherria King

Dean, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Mathematics, 91Ƶ Tennessee Community College (STCC)

Isnt it wonderful when you love your job? It certainly is for Sherria King, Ph.D., who thoroughly enjoys her work and looks forward to future opportunities to expand her reach, knowledge, and contributions to the higher education sector, which shes served for 15 years; four of them at STCC.

Sherria provides leadership and oversight over the Division of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Mathematics, including all department chairs, faculty, and staff. Its quite a lot considering the division has four academic departments: languages and literature, communication, graphic and fine arts, mathematics, and social and behavioral sciences.

Shes spotted two interesting industry trends: the shift in focus on providing students with meaningful workforce credentials that can be earned quickly, and the increase in online learning.

My biggest career achievement has been having the opportunity to serve such a dynamic group of students, faculty, and staff in various leadership positions here at 91Ƶ Tennessee Community College, King said.
