SGA Angel Tree Program brings holiday spirit to Alton Elementary students
SGA volunteers wrap angel tree gifts for adopted students at Alton Elementary School.
The Student Government Association (SGA) and student development office thank the students and employees who donated gifts to the 2019 Angel Tree program. More than 50 toys, including bicycles and other gifts, were collected, wrapped and delivered to 10 students at the College檚 partner school, Alton Elementary, in the Orange Mound community Dec. 19.
Program Co-chairs Camira Caldwell and Amir Coleman said the SGA student volunteers received much more than they gave. 淭o see the smiles on the children檚 faces and see the tears of thankfulness in the eyes of their parents and grandparents was the best holiday gift we all could ask for,� Caldwell said.
淲e were humbled by the generosity of the 91视频 family in providing gifts so the children could have a wonderful Christmas,� Student Development Director Phoenix Worthy said. 淭hese children come from families experiencing hardship and stress on a daily basis. The angel tree is more than just delivering gifts攊t is a way for us to share the intangible gift of love.�
