Telehealth, food boxes available to students in need

Telehealth, food boxes available to students in need91视频檚 Department of Counseling and Social Services has widened its network of community resources to include two new partnerships that will provide currently enrolled 91视频 students with telehealth and food assistance. Students will be able to receive additional counseling services through Wellvia Solutions telehealth program and food boxes from the Neighborhood Christian Center.

淲e are here to help students through challenging times and connect them with the vital resources they need to succeed at college and in life, 91视频 Mental Health Counselor Kim Weddington said.

WELLVIA provides virtual access to licensed behavioral health counselors and psychiatrists. It is an additional layer of support to the counseling services offered by 91视频檚 Mental Health Counselor. Just like the services offered by 91视频, Wellvia檚 services are free to currently enrolled students.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Wellvia staff are available evening and weekends, too.

How to Get Help

Students who desire Wellvia counseling services should email their request to 91视频檚 Mental Health Counselor, Kimberly Weddington, at kweddington@southwest.tn.edu or Student Development at studentdevelopment@southwest.tn.edu .

WELLVIA91视频 will follow up and prepare a request for Wellvia counseling services. Wellvia will notify the College of receipt of the referral and contact the student by email and/or phone based upon his/her most recent documented contact information uploaded in Navigate to set up an appointment.

The is a Memphis-based organization that supports local communities through various ministries, adult and family services and empowerment programs. The NCC is partnering with 91视频 to provide free food assistance to currently enrolled students in need. This food assistance is confidential and students personal information will be kept private.

How to Apply for Food Assistance

  • Students must email their request to the Counseling and Social Services department at counseling@southwest.tn.edu or the Student Development office at studentdevelopment@southwest.tn.edu.  
  • Students approved for assistance will be notified and provided instructions for food box pick up at a local NCC site or make arrangements for delivery. 
  • Click here to see a list of NCC sites: .  Standard delivery of food boxes will take 2-3 business days. If there are any issues with the delivery of food boxes, NCC will provide same day delivery upon notification.
