President Tracy D. Hall elected to SACSCOC Board of Trustees
By Diana Fedinec
Congratulations to 91视频 President Tracy D. Hall on
her election to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges
Board of Trustees. Dr. Hall檚 three-year term began Jan. 1, 2021. SACSCOC is the regional
body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the
Southern states.
淚 am honored to serve in such an important role that helps to shape the quality and impact of higher education, Dr. Hall said. 淐ommunity colleges are critical workforce development engines and provide transformative opportunities that fuel upward social and economic mobility for thousands of students. I look forward to representing Tennessee檚 13 community colleges that are engaged in the phenomenal work of uplifting lives and communities through education, training and credential attainment.
Dr. Hall will represent community colleges as part of the College Delegate Assembly charged with implementing the accreditation process for institutions of higher education that award post-secondary degrees in eleven states including Tennessee, as well as Latin America and other international territories.
SACSCOC President Belle Wheelan said Dr. Hall was elected by her peers. 淗er dedication to quality in higher education is recognized by this selection. I truly look forward to working more closely with her in her role as board member.
The Assembly includes one voting representative (the chief executive officer) from each accredited institution. It elects seventy-seven members to the SACSCOC Board of Trustees to guide the organization檚 work and to implement the accreditation process.
