Parrish library debuts graphic novel collection
By Marketing and Communications Staff
91视频 students and staff now have access to a new graphic novel collection, located
at the Jess H. Parrish Library on the Union Avenue Campus.
The novel collection was created by 91视频 librarian Chris Ratliff after he noticed an increase in inquiries about graphic novels from students over the last few years. According to Ratliff, graphic novels and comic books have been an important part of literature and popular culture since the mid-20th century. The novels are typically illustrated and cover a variety of topics including politics, action, fantasy, history, civil rights, and personal memoirs.
淲e encourage our students (and faculty) to dive in to our latest acquisitions, Ratliff said. 淭his collection serves the 91视频 community not just as entertainment, but to inspire and encourage our students with interests in art and graphic design, aspects of storytelling, literature and writing.
Popular and frequently requested titles are included in the collection. Students can find the books available for checkout on the first floor of the Parrish Library.
