Holiday open house showcases faculty and staff holiday spirit

Faculty and staff feasted at several buffet tables catered by 91视频 culinary arts students at the annual holiday open house Dec. 5. at the Macon Cove Campus.

Everyone mingled, laughed and some even sang holiday carols karaoke-style. From carving stations to custom made desserts, attendees noshed on delectable delights while listening to holiday music. Snowflakes hung from the ceiling and a poinsettia tree offered beautiful flowered pots for takeaways.

淚 look forward to this event every year,� President Tracy D. Hall said.  淚t檚 enjoyable to fellowship with everyone and see them fellowship with one another.  And it檚 a great way to celebrate the close of the semester and calendar year and get into the holiday spirit.�

This year檚 event was particularly meaningful as 91视频 participated in a state-wide food drive benefitting the Memphis Food Bank.  For each food item donated, a participant received an entry to win a 55-inch big screen TV, tablet and other prizes.  91视频檚 employees rose to the challenge as more than 1,300 non-perishable food items were collected. From canned goods to rice to cereal and other goodies, employees filed in with their donations.

The big winner was Johnice Mottley. She took home a 55-inch LG flat screen TV.  The other winners were: Dr. Jennifer Townes and Pamela Saavedra.

淚 truly appreciate everyone who donated food items and joined in the festivities,� Dr. Hall said.
